Heres a rockumentary of the recording of Yehman’s “4.5 Inches Too Big” from somewhere between 2000 – 2001 . I remember the session well, mainly for the horrendous hangover i had from the previous night frivolities.
The band met up at Newland’s Corner for a burger for breakfast, then off to WTD Studios somewhere in the middle of a farm in Shere run by Rob Selway. I always used that studio, it had a really good vibe, you always came out of there with something half decent. The majority of the E.P. was recorded live in one day, with some over dubbed guitars and vocals. I remember when Jules added the Penny whistle to the end of “A Travellers Tale” on the spur of the moment, i think that moment is caught in the video at some point.
Overall i remember my time with Yehman very fondly, not least of all because of my great band mates Julian Wallond, Dave Gardner and Mark Paddick. It was a great few years….
